What's going on? Well this is our Special Assembly Day. They rent a basketball stadium. It has a roof that steps out to a lower roof to allow air flow. Well if you really want a cool seat you sit at the top of the bleachers. Well this day these seats proved to be particularlly cool. In the mid morning session we felt a nice stiff breeze. Well that breeze brought in a whole lot of rain. As the brother on stage giving his talk began to say that he was going to try to go on dispite the rain and wind, the tarps behind him gave way and in blew the rain. So our top seats that you can see from the picture below became very wet. Many brothers rushed the stage to try to tie down the tarps again, after a little while they finally won over all the rain and wind and secured the tarps. Then we had a bunch of wet brothers and a wet stage. So in the picture above there are some of the brothers wiping up the stage and setting up the sound equipments and the lecturn. All of that wound up making a 30 minute break in the program. What a memorible assembly!

This is a new gate that is located near the soon to be warehouse. Here at the branch they receive all their literature in containers from various countries but mostly from Britain. These containers range between 20 - 40 feet. You can see one of these in the picture below. On this container is all the furniture for the new residence building. With team work we were able to unload it and send it back on its way.

Part of the Brothers that you see in the picture above are congregation vounteers they come in for a week at a time. It is a nice opportunity to get to know some of the brothers from outlining areas. One brother that we had to chance to work with is Adjay the brother below. He worked on our crew for about a month.

Feel like a little grease fight??? Aaron and the Project overseer Thomas working on the JCB (a piece of heavy equipment for those who are unfamialiar with the name).
A baby lizard, we see them all around the sight. They are sooo cute.

Here is the newest addition to the Bethel family. His name is Diesel. We just got him a few weeks ago. After a few months of training he will be a guard dog for Bethel. As you can see from the pictures he is really placid. The laziest puppy we've met. He currently lives over here with us at the missionary home. Before he came Aaron and I and Dave and Jas our neighbors worked hard at building him a nice little house and a pin. It has been an enjoyment for many here to have him around. He gets lots of attention and love here.....as you can imagine.

Aaron is helping to set the roof on the shops building to finish it out.

Guess who.....looks like I don't know how to use a hammer huh?

Here are some photos of our recent Zone Visit. The bottom picture is him with his wife. There names are Brother Edward Bunn and Sister Sara Bunn. We actually were able to enjoy them 2 years ago when we were in Ecuador. Except it was all in spansih. This time he was able to give the same talks because this region hasn't heard them before...so I totally used my notes from Ecuador and followed along. Well to explain a little about a zone visit it is like a C.O. visit for the Branch. He visits with all the different departments and gives a little talk to them and he has a meeting with all the missionaries. There is a pictures below of the missionaries here in Liberia. During the visit we have a missionary dinner. Its super special in that the branch goes all out for them. We had a very nice meal and were able to enjoy listening to some of the experiences of how they became missionaries. Then on Sunday there is a big meeting with all the congregation here in Monrovia. The picture below shows you where we had it and how many are there. The funny thing is that in the country of Liberia we have about 5500 publishers, at this meeting we had an attendance of 8225. Good turn out. There is another picture below of some Brothers standing out in a field relieving themselves...but it wasn't just them.....all were making use of the outdoors. Then there is a piture of me and a sister named Julie. Her and her husband have been here for 4 months. She works in the kitchen and her husband does plaster. Well thats about it for the Zone visit.

Hey again.....how is everyone? We hope that all are doing well and keeping warm. We are doing fine here. we are working at getting back in a routine, but I think the heat is slowing us down a bit. It actually wasn't to bad when we first arrived but now its progressively getting worse. Its great in the wee hours of the morning though. Below you see a picture of a few of the Brothers in the dark....we started to pour half of the roof deck on Wednesday. We started to pour at 6:50 and finished at 3:45...It takes so long because we have to mix it all on our own. Below there is a picture of the JCB lifing up about 4 wheel barrows full of concrete then the Brothers would carry it to whereever we are dumping and then they had a "wheel barrow shoot" of sorts that they would slide them down to return for a refill. It actually worked quite well. There is a group shoot of all the Inernational volunteers and servants who are here. Then there is a picture of the maintance building...right now it is currently just footers and block we will pour the slab later. I don't know when though. Feild service is going well...we are trying to get in the grove with our pervious studies and are working up some new ones. Its amazing how many you can have. Oh that reminds me....the first meetings we were back for the Brothers working the sound booth couldn't get the music started and it was a new song, so the brother conducting said, "On the count of 3 we will start" Well needless to say nobody wanted to start it so we waited a few moments and the brothers got the music to start, to the relisf of many. Well thats about all thats happened since we have been back. We love and miss you all.......tah tah for now!

Well it has been a while since we last published a post. Sorry for the gap. Since our last one Aaron's dad, Ed Paul, past away. It has been rough needless to say but we appreciate all the kind words of sympathy and for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
We return to our assignment in Liberia December 31st. We will update the site with more pictures of how the project is progressing. Until then......
